It's now official:

I feel a bit underqualified to comment, since I don't live in London. I wouldn't have thought it was a good thing, but then I quite like Ken Livingstone and he's never been the boss of me. So, views of London Damsels?

I think it's a case of 'wait and see' to be honest....I didn't vote for either Boris or Ken so I can't comment further!

Good Lord, we have a buffoon for a Mayor.
I've lived in London all my life, and have always been well aware of Ken Livingstone, from when he was in charge of the GLC. He was the first politician I ever voted for as he was MP for Brent East (where I'm from originally.)
Yes he's opinionated and sometimes a pain in the bum, but I've always had a lot of respect for him. He's never afraid to stick his neck out when he's passionate about something, and even his worst enemies can't say he's not passionate about London and ordinary Londoners like myself.
I wish I could say the same for Boris....he's come out with a lot of racist stuff in the past, and he's quite elitist. I think he'll do well for the wealthy of London, but not so well for those of us who aren't so lucky.
Just my opinion, of course. I'd love to be proved wrong, but I can't see it happening.
