Hi all,

I need some help.

We have a square (well rectangular but not curved IYKWIM) bay window in the lounge. At the moment there are cheapie wooden venitian blinds x 4 - I think they are Ikea ones.

We'd like to replace them but I'm not sure with what. We have been to a local blind place and got a rough quote for roman blinds and it's £500

I've seen some in Ikea which would be about £50.

Is there not something in between??

Would roman blinds be appropriate for a lounge??

Thanks for any ideas :flowers:

I have a bay window in my living room, and I had roman blinds made for it - I have to say that I have no idea how much they were though, as I had two sets of full length curtains for the two sets of French windows made at the same time. The bill for the curtains and the blinds came to just about £1000 :faint:

Yes, I think romans would look good; we have a similar window in our living room and have normal curtains on a bendy track but wish we could have wooden shutters instead - unfortunately they are silly money and we couldn't reach over the sofa to close them. Have you looked at Next - they have a good range of sensibly priced blinds, including nice looking venetians.

Thanks Mrs B - and Dilly Dally,

I hadn't thought of next (I didn't realise they did them) I'll have a nosy online.

Cheers!

Hillarys will come to your house and give you a quote - their prices are normally very reasonable.

For some reason I thought they'd be loads, I've seen a couple of their flyers and disregarded them... i suppose it could be worth a call for a quote. I assume they will fit them too whereas next ones we will have to put up ourselves.

Thanks for the tip!

Even if they are expensive, you can always feel good about how much money you saved by not using them
