Are we alone in absolutely hating woodgrain effect textures?
We were horrified when our new garage door turned up today and it had this really deep textured woodgrain finish - on a white polyester coated steel door! We never would have guessed from the pictures in the brochure but that is the way they come, why???
When we replaced all our internal doors in the house we went for the budget option with formed doors (big mistake!) and they came in woodgrain texture or smooth. Each supplier seemed surprised that we wanted smooth and even put grained on our order by mistake.
We were also ordered a grain effect white bath panel when we had our bathroom refitted.
I just don't understand - real wood furniture doesn't tend to have deep graining so why put it on stuff that isn't wood? to me, it just looks so fake.
