Have been to see the HV today (she weighs 12lb now) and she thinks its sore gums because of teeth, not that they are coming through yet, perhaps just some movement so she suggested putting some Bonjela or the like on before a feed so I will try it next time she kicks off! Fingers crossed that is the answer.

Glad you've seen the HV and all is ok. Hopefully the bonjela will work. We use Dentinox, which seems to do the trick.

We found the Teetha/Ashton&Parsons powders really helped Claire when teething too so might be an idea to stock up on them.

sorry missed something, did you say that she wasnt really taking her milk. I remember when Mia was really small or not even born, that someone said that their baby when teething didnt take a bottle because it would hurt their gums. Mia is like this sometimes. It does get better. There was a time when Mia would only take a couple of ounzes and that was on top of no tea.

LJJ, yep thats it, the HV reckons it is sore gums - she just randomly freaks out when you try and feed her, sometimes she is fine and others she screams even though I know she is hungry!

I used the teething powders with Ellis and they really seemed to do the trick.
I got mine at the chemist in Asdas, so think you can get them pretty much anywhere.

Well she started screaming on her last feed last night so I rubbed some Dentinox on her gums and she then took the bottle no problem, so I guess that must have been the problem!
