Fenton in Richmond Park
You may have heard about the latest Youtube video to go viral – “Jesus Christ In Richmond Park” - where one man and his dog run amock.
Richmond Park is a wonderful wilderness on the outskirts of London, a lush green space where deer roam freely, minding their own business. Until, that is, a certain dog decides to cause chaos…
It is a brief clip but very funny. As is so often the way, somebody’s embarrassment and desperation to keep a grip on an increasingly uncontrollable situation is hilarious.
Once it was posted on YouTube, by an onlooker who happened to be videoing a picturesque group of deer, it quickly caught on. It made news around the world and immediately inspired spoofs.
The Sun newspaper has tracked down Fenton and his owner but, unlike Fenton, his owner (an architect called Max) is not keen to mix with others, possibly fearing retribution from the Park authorities for failing to keep his dog under control.
Apparently he is also considering changing his dog’s name if the fuss doesn’t die down. He probably shouldn’t worry, I predict an onslaught of dogs called Fenton.
“I’m Fenton.” “No, I’m Fenton!”
